Jocke and I went to look at a house that was for rent yesterday. I was just looking at places to rent and a house popped up at about the same rent as the apartment we are staying in now. I called Jocke and showed him the ad and he instantly wanted to go check it out so I gave the man who had placed the add a call and he said we could come over whenever. So, just a few hours later (since Jocke was out of town with a few friends) we were on our way.
The house was a bit outside of Järvsö and no buses went that way, which would be an issue for me since I don’t have a car. But I still wanted to go and check it out. When we got there we were greeted by an elderly man that was very nice and showed us around the property and told us everything we needed to know about it. Sure it was an older house and needed some TLC but I could absolutely see the potential to where it could end up if you just gave me some time. The house was quite large for just us two but I don’t mind that. It did have TWO open fireplaces! And I love those! I’ve told Jocke that that’s the only thing I look for in our house. I want a fireplace to sit by on those cold winter nights and be cozy next to! Jocke really liked the house and really wanted to move in there, but after coming home and thinking about it and talking with his parents we discussed it some more and came to the conclusion that we probably wouldn’t be able to afford it. The heating was all water-based, so there was some sort of electrical thing (I’ve never lived in a house so I have no idea about any of this) that heats up the water, which is pretty expensive. If we don’t use that we have to buy wood to burn to heat up the house and since it’s a pretty big house, it’ll be a lot to heat up. We just don’t have the funds right now to handle it since I’m hopefully going to study later this year. We could probably handle the costs but then we’d have no money left for anything else than just to live and we’d like to do more than just that. So, we’re going to stay in this apartment for a bit longer. I don’t really mind to be honest. After we threw stuff away and moved things around in the apartment, things have felt better here. It looks more like a home and not just like a place, which is nice. I do love all the plants I’ve bought. It makes the place look much more cozy, and I really like that. But it’s like Jocke say’s; the main thing is that we have a roof over our heads and we are happy. And that’s true. I am happy, and we have somewhere to live.
Anyway. I’ve been working hard on my illustration and I’m finally done with all he black stuff! Yay! My hand hurts from holding that tiny pen in that weird extender. It’s nice to have that over with. Now it’s just the rest. It’s a bit more to do but nothing as dark as what I’ve already finished so I don’t have to force my hand and wrist as much, and that is a good thing!
